Why Has Nobody Heard of It?

We’ve all heard of the Chernobyl disaster of 1986, you probably even saw the HBO series, the photos of glowing sarcophagi, and many of us have heard it used as an example of a perceived flaw in Socialism and the dangers of nuclear power.
But I bet the majority of you, if not all of you, haven’t heard of India’s Bhopal disaster from 1984. This was the world’s deadliest industrial catastrophe, and it barely gets a mention. There’s a clear reason for the disparity in coverage. One is a convenient weapon against socialism, the other is massive evidence of the dangers of capitalism, so it’s buried.
