Who Are The Buddhas?

Who are these figures and what do they represent

Not a lot of Westerners are very familiar with Eastern religions, at least not to any depth. We are mostly exposed to a wide range of flavors of Christianity, to the point I’ve heard numerous Christians refer to followers of other denominations as being followers of another “religion”.

Many Christians mistake Buddha for being a god, basically in their attempt to fit the religion into the same mold that theirs is based upon. They also often think that the “fat Buddha” is the same person as the one often depicted meditating under the bodhi tree.

So, who are these figures if they’re not the same individual being depicted?
