When “Faith” Meets the Flesh Trade

It seems like every time a trafficking scandal pops up, there’s always some familiar orbit of “faith-based philanthropists,” “patriots,” and “family values” types hovering nearby. Despite that fact, somehow, they all claim to have no idea how they ended up in the orbit of some of the worst humanity has to offer.
That brings us to Erika Kirk, a conservative media personality, self-branded “Christian humanitarian,” and wife of the late Charlie Kirk. According to reports from Romania, her name has been linked to the Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base trafficking allegations.
Specifically, her charity, Romanian Angels, was mentioned by whistleblowers claiming that a U.S. colonel was running a child sex brothel on base under the guise of humanitarian work.
What we know is Erika Kirk is connected to Donald Trump’s Miss USA pageants, and rose to prominence through the same circles as Trump’s faith outreach team, promoting “Christian values” and “anti-trafficking advocacy.”
Trump, as we all are aware, was famously best buds with Jeffrey Epstein, the international symbol of child exploitation and trafficking. Both had connections with people and pageants that have faced allegations of sex trafficking.
