Let’s have a little thought experiment.
Imagine a world where no one ever sat in a cave, looked at the stars, and thought, “You know what this needs? A sky daddy who watches me masturbate.”
No gods.
No temples.
No golden calves.
No tithing envelopes.
No televangelists crying on HD screens while selling Jesus-themed vitamins.
A world where nobody ever decided to threaten their neighbor with eternal hellfire for wearing the wrong fabric combo or loving the “wrong” gender.
What if religion… just never happened?
Would we be floating around in flying cars by now, holding hands in a world without holy wars, burnt witches, and Crusades? Or would we still be chucking rocks at each other over land and shiny things, just without pretending it was “God’s will”?
