At the beginning of the Bible we get two versions of the origin story, in Genesis one we get this version:


Then in Genesis 2, we get this version:

So there are a couple of conclusions you can come to here, whether you think these two verses are contradictory, or you can try to rationalize them as one story. Most scholars believe these two sections are taken from two different stories and have been merged together.

The big difference here is that in Genesis 2 Adam had already been roaming around, naming all of the animals, etc. by the time God decided to make woman. In Genesis 1 however, it states that God made both of them on the same day. Or does it?
