Most of us have heard about Project 2025, and of Trump saying he’d be a dictator for a day.

These are both terrifying, no other candidate would admit to such a plan. The question though is whether he actually plans all of this, or he’s just a bumbling idiot saying things that on one hand should be self-sabotage for a candidate, but in the current climate seems to just fire up his base.

Recently he seems to have fully slipped, although he did subsequently double then triple down when addressing a group of Christian constituents at a Turning Points U.S.A. event.

“Christians get out and vote! Just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore! Four more years, you know what? It’ll be fixed, it’ll be fine. You won’t have to vote anymore my beautiful Christians.”

In my opinion, it isn’t even Trump that people need to be worrying the most about, he’s just a figurehead, a demagogue for the ruling class folk behind him.

They’re the ones that have cooked up Project 2025, and I think they know he stands the best chance of getting into office with his cult of personality so they can enact all of their Christofascist plans.

If he doesn’t win they’ll likely pull out someone else and try this again and again, although they know that Christianity is fading in America, and already a majority of people identify as liberal or progressive rather than conservative. It’s only through gerrymandering and the Electoral College that conservatives are even able to win any more on a national level.

Trump however still poses a bigger threat than the last time he was in office. He has had his ego hurt, and a man like him is looking for revenge and he admits as much in his “dictator for a day” comment.

Hannity asked him if he’d never abuse power for retribution on anyone, and he said, “except on day one”, which drew a ton of cheers from the crowd.

He continued to then say he’d close the border and drill, which Hannity tried to respond wasn’t retribution, but Trump seemed to just ignore it and move on.

This all could be him just playing a crowd, but I also think he’s letting the truth slip since his advisors are likely telling him all of their plans behind the scenes and reinforcing to him that it’s a popular message while playing on his ego of how “big” of a president he’ll be. I don’t think Trump could really care less what his full platform would be as long as it’s popular with his fans.

Ultimately the bigger issue here is the rising desire for a “strongman” type leader and fascism. I think this is all a result of the oligarchs of the country making the situation worse and worse for the average American, and then exploiting that crisis for ever more control. The rising number of people who want a leader like Trump is truly the terrifying part, he is just a symptom of the rot. He offers simple incorrect solutions to the problems, and people eat it up.
