The Only Way to Heaven
Trying to rationalize the irrational

I’ve touched on this topic in previous pieces but I felt it deserves its own article. I’ve mentioned before I was raised in various denominations of churches throughout my childhood and young adult years. So I’ve heard numerous times how Jesus is the “way the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father except through me”.
This is Christian’s go-to for claiming that anything outside of their religion is wrong, and will just land you with a front-row seat to Hell.
Joel Osteen, as much as I despise the conman, even said this about Hindus he had met in India.

“I have been to India. I don’t know about their religion, but I know they love God.-Joel Osteen
An innocuous enough comment, and honestly it gained him some points in my book for at least being open-minded. His congregation and Christians at large however were not so open-minded, and he faced a lot of backlash over this statement, to which he issued a retraction of sorts stating that Jesus was the only way to heaven, and he was just trying to be “inclusive”, you know something that helps keep the offering plates full.
