This one is a bit of an odd topic for me to write about, as it ventures a bit into the tinfoil hat realm. I first ran across the idea of the Mandela Effect a number of years ago related to the “Berenstain Bears” which I distinctly remembered being “Berenstein Bears”, so it caught my attention.

This whole possible phenomenon is usually explained away by people as folk misremembering things. But there are more and more people bringing up issues like this about various facts that they have noticed “change” in our world.

The name comes from people believing that Nelson Mandela had died in prison back in the 80s as a political prisoner, and they were alarmed to find out he had died in 2013 at the ripe old age of 95, having even been president of South Africa.

There are many examples of these such as George the Monkey having a tail, the man on the Monopoly game box having a monocle, and the Fruit of the Loom emblem including a cornucopia — it’s a deep rabbit hole to go down.

Theories on the cause of this mainly point fingers at CERN, possibly messing with multiple dimensions when they’re doing things like discovering the “God Particle”, the Higgs boson.
