The Illusion of Choice
America’s Favorite Lie
The Illusion of Choice
America’s Favorite Lie

If you walk into any grocery store in the United States, you’ll see a wall of soda and snack options. A hundred different brands, dozens of flavors, every one of them with packaging just screaming for your attention. But if you bother to read the label on the back, you’ll find out that most of them, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, Tropicana, Lipton, 7UP, and Aquafina, are all owned by the same two companies: PepsiCo and Coca-Cola.
This is what freedom looks like in America: a hundred shiny packages, all funneled into the same two corporate wallets.
This phenomenon doesn’t stop at the beverage aisle.
The same illusion plays out in every sector of life in the so-called land of the free, from what you eat to what you read, watch, vote for, or even know.
