The Nobel Peace Prize has officially become the world’s classiest inside joke, a feel-good award for people who can smile while setting something on fire. It’s like handing out a medal for “restraint” to a cop right after a protest beating.

This year’s winner? María Corina Machado, Venezuela’s favorite U.S.-sponsored “freedom fighter”, who graciously dedicated her shiny new medal to Donald Trump. The man who wanted to bomb Iran “just to show them who’s boss.” The same Trump, whose buddy Milei she also supports, the one who is currently bankrupting Argentina in the name of “reform,” selling the country out to the IMF. The same Trump who keeps killing Venezuelan and even Colombian fishermen, claiming they’re drug dealers.

Rather than a peace prize, it’s more of a participation trophy for imperialism.

Machado, already vowed to privatize Venezuela’s oil industry, is just the latest in a long line of Washington’s chosen “democracy crusaders”. AKA people willing to sell out their country to corporate interests.

It’s an amazing coincidence that the U.S. always seems to love whichever “freedom fighter” hands over the natural resources.

The Nobel Peace Prize just went to a woman who worships Trump, idolizes Milei, and dreams of turning Venezuela into ExxonMobil’s playground.

Sounds about right.
