The Book of Revelation
Should it have ever been included in the canon?

If the Book of Revelation had been submitted today as a screenplay or novel, it would either be tossed out for being too confusing or picked up by a B-movie horror producer looking to crank out the next Left Behind. Somehow, this bizarre, cryptic, violent fever dream made it into the final cut of the Bible.
It almost didn’t.
The early church debated the hell out of whether Revelation belonged in the canon, and for good reason. From its questionable authorship to its violent theology that clashes hard with the teachings of Jesus, Revelation sticks out in a book about love, grace, and redemption.
