Elon Musk, the richest (acknowledged) person in modern history, says he’s launching a new American political party that will “represent the 80% in the middle,” that mythical, rational, quiet majority who are sick of both Democrats and Republicans, but who also somehow still haven’t realized the system is rigged far beyond what a new party can fix.
Apparently, running Twitter, SpaceX, Tesla, and Neuralink isn’t enough.
Musk has something none of the other third-party dreamers ever had: unlimited money, a cult following, and control of one of the most influential platforms on Earth.
