During Trump’s latest trip, the “chosen one” was presented with a golden crown modeled after those worn by ancient Korean monarchs. Naturally, Trump, a man whose concept of humility is well known, accepted it like it was a divine coronation.

Trump grinned like he’d just been anointed emperor of the free world.

He didn’t seem to realize, unsurprisingly, was that the dynasty that wore that crown, the Silla Dynasty, depending was eventually overthrown.

In Korean tradition, those crowns represent not only power but also impermanence, the rise and fall of rulers who believed their divine mandate made them untouchable.

Trump just saw “gold crown” and thought “finally, someone gets me.”

This is after all a man who once stared directly into a solar eclipse.
