“Religious Freedom”
Or just an excuse for child abuse?

The United States loves to pretend it’s the moral lighthouse of the world, the defender of the innocent and the voiceless. That illusion falls apart fast when you look at how this country treats children, especially when “religious freedom” gets involved.
In America, your right to practice religion apparently includes the right to endanger, abuse, and even kill children, as long as you shout “God told me to” loud enough.
Whether it’s ultra-Orthodox rabbis spreading herpes through sick ancient rituals, Pentecostal snake handlers letting their kids die from venomous bites, or Jehovah’s Witnesses refusing lifesaving measures for their children, there exists a clear message: religious rights in this country are more sacred than children’s lives.
