Some people seem to need a reminder
I can’t believe this even needs to be said, but after some conversations I’ve had in the last few days here on Medium I think it is necessary.
Racism is bad, ok, we all got that? It seems a lot of people evidently don’t. Let’s break down the scenarios then so that this can be elucidated for those who don’t seem to understand this concept.
I’ve been spending a lot more time here on Medium, and the vast majority of that has been positive interactions. There have been a few instances since the Oct 7th attacks in Israel that have opened my eyes up to the racism that still is widespread in the world though. Israelis calling out all Arabs as being evil and people saying that all Jews are evil. How can people not understand that the actions of a few of a certain group don’t reflect on the entirety of a race? There are numerous Jews protesting the attacks in Israel, not all Jews are Zionists, and Arabs as well are a widely diverse group of people with numerous religions and cultures, and not all Islamic people are ok with violence.
“Well, their holy book calls for violence!” Yeah…so does yours if you practice Christianity or Judaism, just depends on the verse you want to cite.
An interaction I had very recently was on an article someone had written about MLK, it cited his speech calling for blacks and poor whites to band together in unity, a message that threatened the ruling class enough to have him assassinated.
A user commented that if MLK had read “The Iceman Inheritance” that he would have been “singing a far different tune”, and that he would have realized that Caucasians can’t coexist with each other let alone the rest of the world and need to be exterminated….This book seems to be a anti-white version of “Mein Kampf”.
One user seemed to agree with him in this sentiment. So I called him out and asked him if he really thinks that whites are evil in their DNA? What about mixed-race people? What about Latinos who are on average 40–60% European by DNA? Do all of these people need to be exterminated as well? Do you realize how much you sound like Hitler?
I’m still waiting on a response.
Throughout history whites, Caucasians, have been perpetrators of a lot of racially motivated atrocities, or at least that often was the excuse for what was being done, especially since the colonial era.
But what was the real motivation and who was leading these atrocities? The rich, the powerful, and that holds true to this day. In the situation in Palestine for instance, millions around the world are protesting this, many of whom are white. Yet it is still going on, why? Because of those in power.
Yes those in power in Europe and the U.S. are white, but they have less in common with poor whites than poor whites do with the global south.
Don’t fall for their fucking tricks, dividing people up based on the color of their skin is an old trick used by the ruling class to divide us. It’s fucking stupid to fall for it.
If you run across this sort of rhetoric it is important to call it out. Even for those whites that have white guilt for everything your race has perpetrated, it isn’t inherently tied to your DNA.
Every race of humanity has caused atrocities, look at genocides in Latin America, Africa, Asia, India, where one subsection of a race killed another en masse based on whatever trivial difference they saw. Yes, many of these have occurred before colonial times. It isn’t uniquely a white thing, but yes whites have been very successful at these atrocities in recent history.
People who spread this bullshit either are ignorant or are purposely omitting history in an attempt to profit off of biases, they’re doing what Fox News does to Conservative Christians, playing on tribalism and fears of the “other”.
Don’t fall for it! Call it out every time you see it! Don’t let this sort of shit fester! There’s one true enemy to mankind, and that is the ruling class that tries to turn the rest of the 99% of the population against each other so that they can sit at the top and exploit all of us for their gain.
