Pregnant Women and Babies Starving - U.S. Sends More Bombs

How the U.S. is complicit in funding atrocities yet again.

Yesterday was Christmas, and while spending time with family I glanced at my phone and saw two different, but related, stories shown in my feed. One is about how increasingly dire the circumstances are getting for people in Palestine, specifically pregnant and nursing mothers, who are lucky enough to still be drawing breath. The other is about how the U.S. is still sending billions of dollars in aid, and thousands of tons of weapons to Israel. The article talking about the starving pregnant mothers and children was based on a Palestinian outlet, so some in the pro-Israel (fascist) side will argue that it could be biased, but those people will also tell you not to believe your eyes when you see videos of dead babies and hear the cries of mother’s over their dead children.

According to the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, 71% of Gaza’s population is now suffering from acute hunger, while 98% of people do not have enough to eat. The organization, Human Rights Watch, has stated that the Israeli government is using starvation as a weapon of war, with devastating effects on Gaza’s population, said ActionAid in a report.

The other article though was from The Times of Israel. I guess their intention was to show that the U.S. still has their backs, but I was relieved to see some of the comments saying how they were pissed off that the U.S. was funding this atrocity and others who at least admitted how bad this makes Israel look. They feel it makes Israel look bad that they are so reliant on the U.S.’s continued funding to keep up this ethnic cleansing/genocide, as well as being reliant on the U.S. to keep protecting them against actions by the U.N. since Israel has a long history of committing war crimes that they never have to answer for.

I can wrap my mind around how many in the U.S. are just too busy working their jobs at stagnated wages and trying to keep up with ever-increasing inflation and rental rates to know what’s really going on. Those people just don’t have time to pay attention to the news. Or they do pay attention, but only to the evening news that AIPAC funds on both sides of the U.S. political spectrum, so it all has a very pro-Israel bias.

Biden’s speech makes a lot more sense seeing that 4.3 million dollar payday.

What I can’t wrap my head around is how people can be mostly in the know, and justify Israel’s hugely disproportionate response.

Meanwhile, Gaza’s death toll has risen to 20,700. With two-thirds of that total being women and children. Why is the U.S. funding this? Why do we keep sending weapons to a government that is fine with killing at minimum 2 civilians for every claimed combatant? Israel has the power to fully cut off supplies to this entire region, yet chooses this pathway instead because they know it’s like shooting fish in a barrel. As of today, only 156 Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza.

That’s 5300 children dead, with another possible 1200…6500 children likely dead, with thousands more dismembered in various ways. Children having to have amputations performed without anesthesia in many cases. All of this is somehow to collectively pay back an entire population for the actions of a few who carried out heinous attacks and killed 35 children on Oct 7th. I’m singling out children because I hope we can all agree that they aren’t “terrorists” or “Hamas” even though Israel keeps claiming everything they bomb is a militant “Hamas” target. They keep claiming that Hamas uses “human shields”, well the fucking bombs blowing up these kids aren’t Hamas…they’re U.S.-made weapons sadly.

At this point, Israel has killed 186 children for every 1 that was killed on Oct 7th, but we’re still supposed to only be outraged for the children that were killed on that day. Repeat after me, “Hamas are Terrorists, Israel is just defending itself.” If you repeat this mantra enough times you’ll likely receive millions of dollars in campaign funding, not be censored, and maybe begin to believe that it’s true.

That brings me to my next point. If you’re an American and you’re reading this, then you are funding the slaughter. Whether you like it or not, the government can’t seem to provide us affordable healthcare or education, but they damn sure can afford to send your money and weapons to Israel to kill Palestinian children.

If you haven’t seen the images and video coverage yourself then take a look, warning it’s probably the most *graphic* images you’ve ever seen. Link here. Motaz is one of the few journalists that Israel hasn’t taken out, they’ve killed over 100 at this point. More than any other war in history…and it’s only been over 2 months. What does that tell you about a country that doesn’t want the truth to get out to the public?

Even with this massive death toll, this highly technologically advanced, nuclear-powered military, who is “fighting” an almost entirely one-sided “war” as the media likes to call it”, still needs the U.S.’s aid?

Maybe it’s due to how many bombs they’ve dropped? In the first week, they dropped so many bombs, that they surpassed the peak of what the U.S. used in an entire year against ISIS. Close to half of the bombs used are “dumb" (unguided) bombs, that maximize civilian deaths. This flagrant disregard even has Biden, a staunch pro-Zionist, stating that they are bombing indiscriminately.

Two hundred and forty-four US transport planes and 20 ships have delivered more than 10,000 tons of armaments and military equipment to Israel since the start of the war, Channel 12 reports.

Those purchases of course then profit defense contractors who send checks to the U.S. lawmakers who signed off on this “aid”.

Meanwhile, there are enormous amounts of people on the edge of starvation in Gaza, as well as increasing risks of epidemics due to a lack of proper sewage and hygienic supplies.

What’s the point? Pro-Israel folk will say they need to “eliminate the terrorists”, but what provoked the Oct 7th attack? Here is a wiki that shows Palestinians killed by each day of the year, and this history goes back 75 years. My point isn’t that Hamas’s attack was justified, but definitely provoked given the living conditions of Palestinians living under the boot of the Israelis. If you had a family member killed by an oppressive force that treats you like something subhuman wouldn’t you lash out?

Israel is an apartheid state, with different sets of laws applied to you whether you are Jewish or not.

But what should Israel have done? Right after the attack, they were able to cut water, food, and fuel to Gaza…so why not just do that and make a perimeter and demand the hostages back and any Hamas militants? Instead, they decided to carpet bomb the whole place killing tens of thousands of civilians. They can’t claim the high road at this point, they’ve chosen terrorism, and their actions should be labeled as such.

Make no mistake Israel’s mission has never been to only attack militants. How can we know this? Just look at what the people in power there have said all along.

“Behind every terrorist stand dozens of men and women, without whom he could not engage in terrorism. They are all enemy combatants, and their blood shall be on all their heads. Now this also includes the mothers of the martyrs, who send them to hell with flowers and kisses. They should follow their sons, nothing would be more just. They should go, as should the physical homes in which they raised the snakes. Otherwise, more little snakes will be raised there. They have to die and their houses should be demolished so that they cannot bear any more terrorists,” — Ayelet Shaked — a Knesset member of the religious nationalist Jewish Home party
“I am very puzzled by the constant concern which the world is showing for the Palestinian people and is actually showing for these horrible, inhuman animals who have done the worst atrocities that this century has seen.” — Dan Gillerman Israel’s former ambassador to the UN

For any of you not familiar with the Bible, or the reference that Netanyahu invoked, let me refresh you.

This is a clear call for genocide, and we can see from their actions that’s exactly what they’ve been doing. They’ve displaced almost 2 million and destroyed most homes in the region, and as I mentioned in a previous article they now are planning on salting the aquifers to destroy the land’s ability to suppose life.

It’s easy to be blinded by the U.S.’s jingoistic rhetoric, the pledge of allegiance every day in school, and the myth that the U.S. spreads democracy and freedom around the world. Unfortunately when you actually study the history of the U.S. and see all of the dictators that have been supported, the democracies that have been toppled, the death squads that have been funded and covered up…a new narrative comes to light.

Does this extermination of a populace make the U.S. safer? Support for this regime and their treatment of Palestinians is actually what likely triggered the attacks on the U.S. during 9/11 if we’re to believe Bin Laden and his “Letter to the American People”

The U.S. is currently funding and supplying a genocide, and much of its populace is turning a blind eye. Will we ever demand better from our government, or will we be complicit in yet another horror for the history books? How many other attacks against American citizens will this sort of perceived support for these atrocities cause?
