Why Are So Many Sexually Corrupt in Office?

In a sane world, the people with the most power over our lives would be held to the highest moral standards. In this one, they’re held to none. And nowhere is this more obvious than in the grotesquely long list of sexual abuse, harassment, and misconduct allegations that have riddled American politics. It doesn’t matter what color their tie is, blue or red; the one thing they seem to have in common is a shocking number of sexual scandals.

We’re talking about a career field that manages to combine three intoxicants of unchecked behavior: power, money, and near-total immunity. It’s a setup that practically begs for predators. So it shouldn’t be surprising that the halls of Congress, statehouses, and city halls across the country have been crawling with abusers for decades.
