Capitalism’s foundation is built on poverty.
The system absolutely needs poor people the way a leech needs blood. Without them, who’d scrub the toilets, assemble the iPhones, or make sure billionaires can have their almond milk lattes delivered?
Capitalism thrives on desperation.
It requires a class of people terrified of losing what little they have. When you’ve got millions just trying to survive, suddenly “competitive wages” can mean “barely enough to live.”
The “free market” only works if most people are too broke or too scared to question it.
