We are sold NATO as the ever-righteous, democracy-defending superhero squad of the West.

The force standing between us and tyranny, fascism, and authoritarianism… except for one tiny little detail that doesn’t really fit that narrative…

A whole lot of NATO’s early leadership were literal Nazis.

I’m not using that term in the way a lot of young people these day use it for people they don’t see eye to eye with politically. No, I’m talking actual, Third Reich-uniform-wearing, Hitler-saluting, command-holding Nazis.

These guys were top brass, but what’s a little Holocaust participation between friends, right?
