Let’s stop pretending Manifest Destiny was some noble pursuit. It was not destiny, it was not divine, the founding fathers weren’t saints, it was genocide wrapped in a flag, and genocide doesn’t get less genocidal just because you slap a few Bible verses on it.

The Bible, after all, has been used to justify endless atrocities throughout history.

While we’re at it, let’s quit acting like this ideology of conquest and entitlement died in the 1800s. It didn’t, it just changed costumes. It put on a swastika in the 1930s. It put on an IDF uniform in 1948. And through it all, it kept waving the same bloody banner: “This land is mine because God said so.”
