It’s Got Nothing to Do With “Public Health”
If you’ve been following the latest legislative circus in Texas, you may have heard that state lawmakers are once again trying to outlaw hemp-derived THC products like delta-8 and THCa under the tired excuse of “public health.”
Apparently, a little plant that helps people sleep, eat, and manage PTSD and pain is a dire threat to society, unlike alcohol, which literally kills 140,000 Americans every year, or tobacco, which still racks up over 480,000 annual deaths.
This whole thing reeks of 1950s-style Reefer Madness propaganda, except now it’s dressed up in pseudo-scientific language and talking points about “protecting children.” The real reason behind this crackdown has nothing to do with keeping anyone safe. It has everything to do with protecting corporate profits.
