Killing The Story
Israel’s August 10th Assassination of Al Jazeera Journalists

Yesterday, on August 10, 2025, Israel dropped a bomb on a tent outside al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, they dropped it squarely on what was left of Gaza’s independent press.
Five Al Jazeera journalists were killed instantly, along with freelancer Mohammad al-Khaldi nearby.
The Journalists They Killed
- Anas al-Sharif (28) —Known for gut-punch reporting and a social media presence that broke through propaganda filters. If you’ve seen raw footage from Gaza, chances are you’ve seen his work.
- Mohammed Qreiqeh (33) — Correspondent who would present eloquent war briefings.
- Ibrahim Zaher (25) — Cameraman from Jabalia refugee camp, filming what the rest of the world refuses to look at.
- Moamen Aliwa — Cameraman, documenting the kind of scenes that never make it to sanitized evening news segments.
- Mohammed Noufal — Assistant cameraman, part of the invisible backbone of frontline reporting.
- Mohammad al-Khaldi — Freelance journalist killed in a separate strike that same day.
These people were some of the last remaining eyes in a blackout zone.
Israel trotted out the same tired excuse they’ve used for almost every journalist they’ve killed in Gaza: “they were Hamas operatives in disguise.” This time, they waved around “documents” from October 2024 as proof. Al Jazeera called it “a targeted assassination.” The UN called it “baseless.”
The only people pretending to believe it were Israel’s usual apologists in Washington and a handful of op-ed mercenaries who get paid to recycle talking points.
Somehow, Israel is extremely accurate when they’re targeting a tent full of Journalists, yet for the last two years, this same military has caused some of the worst “collateral damage” in history, blowing up women and children.
