Things Aren’t Looking So Good for the U.S.’s Golden Child

Israel’s genocide in Gaza has finally pushed the world to a breaking point, and the empire knows it.

The latest flotilla, attacked yesterday on September 23rd, is a direct challenge to Israel’s chokehold on Gaza.

Israel’s impunity is starting to rot.

Italy has been one to really show a backbone. For decades, they, like most EU nations, have rarely ever broken ranks with the U.S., basically just following Washington’s orders and looking the other way.

Riots have erupted in Italy with tens of thousands pouring out into the streets in support of Palestine, furious that their governments have spent years ignoring the genocide of innocent people while parroting Washington’s lies. These are no longer quiet vigils or peaceful protests; they’re full-blown confrontations with police, a sign that the people are no longer willing to let their leaders hide behind press conferences and empty statements.

When the rage of the street outpaces the carefully managed talking points of the state, history has a way of shifting course.

With the current protests shutting down ports and bringing commerce to a halt, the government couldn’t ignore the will of its people. They have decided to send warships. Actual naval vessels to escort the Freedom Flotilla’s humanitarian aid.

They’re not the only ones.

Both Italy and Spain have now announced they’re sending naval ships to accompany the Freedom Flotilla bound for Gaza, a move unthinkable just months ago when European leaders couldn’t stop kneeling before Tel Aviv and Washington.

For years, the flotilla has been left to small NGOs and activists who have faced arrest, sabotage, and even outright murder. But now entire governments are starting to back them, not out of moral clarity, but because the pressure from the people has become impossible to ignore.

This is a survival tactic rather than altruism.

Italy and Spain didn’t suddenly grow a conscience; they were shoved into motion by their own citizens.

Once governments start to move under popular pressure, it’s a sign that the machine itself is faltering. If the people of Europe can force their leaders to challenge Israel on the open seas, then the days of unconditional support may finally be numbered.
