The Bible never contradicts itself, or that’s what Christians would have you believe anyways.

The truth of the matter is that it absolutely does.

But since this is the divinely inspired word of God, a “living book” to many believers. They believe we should look to it for authority on things all throughout our lives, but I’m not asking for that, just for it to set the record straight on certain “facts” that it allegedly makes clear.

Is God all-powerful, and can he be trusted?

First, let’s look at verses that make the statement that he is indeed capable of doing anything he wants.

14 Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.-Genesis 18:14 KJV
42
2 I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.-Job 42:1–2 KJV
17 Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:-Jeremiah 32:17 KJV
27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?-Jeremiah 32:27 KJV
26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.-Matthew 19:26 KJV
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.-Mark 10:27 KJV
37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.-Luke 1:37 KJV
27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.-Luke 18:27 KJV
6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.-Revelation 19:6 KJV

There we have it, quite a few verses from the New and Old Testaments stating very clearly that God can do anything he desires. Thankfully there’s no contradiction to this right?

19 And the Lord was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.-Judges 1:19 KJV

One could argue here that it is Judah who couldn’t prevail, but he also had been blessed by the Lord in this task. So shouldn’t that mean that he would be able to complete the task that the Lord wanted him to?

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?-Romans 8:31 KJV

This example either shows that God is weak to iron, or that he didn’t really intend for Judah to win this battle…in which case he’s being deceptive.
