Is Portland Oregon the New Fallujah?

The once sleepy Pacific Northwest city of Portland, Oregon is now apparently indistinguishable from Fallujah.

At least, that’s what President Donald Trump wants you to believe. He recently declared that Portland was “war-ravaged” and under siege by Antifa terrorists.

His solution? Send in the U.S. military with authorization to use “full force, if necessary.” Full force was left rather vague, but seems to imply that soldiers should be ready to shoot the “terrorists” with live ammo since they’ve done things like paint “F*ck ICE” on some walls.

The pesky little problem is that crime data says the exact opposite of what Trump is claiming, violent crime has actually dropped significantly in 2025. Facts never stand in the way of Trump though, remember when he staged federal deployments just to escalate things in Portland back in 2020, all so he could get riot footage for campaign ads?

Here we go again.

Except this time it’s not just about scaring suburban voters, it’s about cementing “order” through spectacle. The stage this time around is an ICE detention facility, any dissent around them must be crushed with military theatrics.

Governor Tina Kotek and Portland’s Mayor Keith Wilson immediately called out the deployment as unnecessary, unconstitutional, and flat-out dangerous.

Trump doesn’t care about the people who actually live there. His crowd only needs the soundbite: “Portland under siege, Trump saves the day.” Senator Ron Wyden nailed it, this is 2020 all over again.

Manufacture chaos, then pose as the strongman who restores order.
