Will Ireland Start a Domino Effect?

Ireland. That little emerald dot on the map with a population barely cracking 5 million is suddenly Israel’s latest nightmare.

Why is that?

Because Ireland is pushing hard to block trade with Israeli settlements in the West Bank, settlements built on stolen land, illegal under international law, and condemned by pretty much every country except Israel and its biggest lapdog, the U.S.

Israel is losing its mind.

This isn’t some minor trade spat.

The Israeli government has been desperately leaning on the United States, its reliable attack dog in international politics, to pressure Ireland into backing off. The U.S., predictably, is obliging with its usual blend of threats, sweet talk, and behind-the-scenes threats.

Meanwhile, AIPAC, the most ruthless lobby group you’ve never heard of unless you pay close attention, has been flying groups of mostly freshman Republican congressmen to Israel to soak up the official line firsthand.

Next week, they’re flying a batch of Democrats over there, too. All of this while Congress conveniently ignores huge domestic issues like the release of Epstein files, which got stalled because a Republican forced a recess.
