Exploring the concept of a “divine creator”

The universe being made by an intelligent creator is something we see throughout essentially all religions and traditions around the world, but it’s a concept refused by those who consider themselves more scientific-minded.
This concept of creation takes on a lot of different flavors when you begin to look at the religions, from the Abrahamic God who spoke things into existence, to the Gnostic version of that tale where this was all done by a lesser deity separated from the true realm of the real ultimate God. Then we have the Hindu belief that all of existence is actually part of Brahman or the ultimate reality, or we can go way back to the Sumerian story of Marduk slaying the dragon Tiamat and using her body as the building blocks of the universe.
Interestingly in more recent years, we’ve seen a sort of resurgence of a couple of versions of intelligent design theory among non-religious folk though, so let’s dive into those.
