As Christians we’re taught that there are no other gods, if the issue is pressed then you’ll likely be told that there are other gods, but they’re just demons or the devil posing as these other gods to lead people astray.

Meanwhile, we have numerous verses where the God of the Old Testament proclaims loudly to the Israelites not to worship other gods. This seems to be an ongoing theme in the Old Testament since the Israelites did often go astray back to their old gods such as Baal or Asherah, which I covered in a previous article about the wife of God.

Exodus 20:3-NASB
3
Deuteronomy 6:14-NASB
14
Exodus 23:13-NASB
13 them

This seems to be a much larger theme throughout the Old Testament, and in the case of Asherah major efforts were made to erase her name out of the book over the course of many copies and eventual translations.

But what about the New Testament? What gods were included there?
