The U.S. and its G7 buddies love to talk about “human rights.” They roll it out like a moral badge whenever it’s time to wag a finger at their geopolitical rivals. The only issue is their definition of genocide is as flexible as is necessary in the moment.
If it’s China, suddenly the language is clear, the outrage is instant, and the sanctions are ready to be applied. If it’s Israel flattening Gaza into rubble and starving children in plain view of the world? Well… now it’s “complicated,” “a matter of legal interpretation,” or “under review.”
