I ran across another headline earlier today that perfectly highlights that the United States is not a functioning country, James Van Der Beek, Dawson Leery himself, is having to auction off pieces of his career to pay for his own medical bills.

A guy who starred on a mega-hit ’90s show, who ostensibly “made it,” whose face was once plastered across every teen magazine in America… is now rummaging through fan memorabilia like he’s organizing a garage sale just to cover the cost of staying alive in the richest empire on Earth.

The free market at work.

We’ve got the “world’s greatest healthcare system” but here is a man who was once a cultural icon hawking props from the WB network to pay for procedures that every other industrialized country covers as a basic human right.
