Who’s Really Winning the War on Immigrants?

Obviously, immigrants are the reason the U.S. economy is in shambles. I mean, it’s not like it has anything to do with billionaires hoarding wealth, corporations dodging taxes, Wall Street cannibalizing housing, or the fact that most Americans are one medical bill away from homelessness.
No, let’s be real: it’s definitely that family picking strawberries in 100-degree heat for below minimum wage that’s ruining the country.
That’s the narrative we’re sold every election season and every time another desperate migrant crosses a desert to work a job no citizen will touch.
“They’re taking our jobs!” (Which ones, exactly? The ones where you stand ankle-deep in chicken guts for 12 hours?)
Or, “They’re draining the system!” (Despite the fact that undocumented immigrants pay billions in taxes annually and are ineligible for most public benefits.)
Don’t worry about facts, that’s not the point. The point is to keep you angry at someone poorer than you, so you never look up.
While working-class Americans are busy hating each other over scraps, there’s one group that never loses: the ruling class. The real grift isn’t just about demonizing immigrants, it’s about monetizing them.
