Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been marketed to all of us as the face of the “far left” in American politics with conservative commentators portraying her as the second coming of Karl Marx. Liberal media outlets frame her as the bold progressive future of the Democratic Party. Recently they’ve even been floating her as a possible presidential contender in 2028, checking off numerous identity boxes in addition to her “far left” appeal to progressives.

So it’s no surprise if you yourself think she’d be capable or intending to nationalize the banks, abolish private insurance, and put Wall Street executives on trial.

unfortunately what we got has been much more familiar, another politician who rode grassroots outrage into office, built a personal brand around “resistance,” and then gradually folded into the same party machinery she once claimed to challenge.

The transformation was not sudden. It was visible from the beginning to anyone paying attention.
